A recent graduate of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) has sparked a heated debate online after declaring she would not accept any job offering less than GH¢4,000.

She made this bold statement during a social media discussion about entry-level salaries for university graduates in the country.

She argued that her expectation is based on her experience during her national service, where she learned of “really good-paying jobs” available through networking and connections.

She stated, “No, I won’t because when I started my service, I got to know that there are really good-paying jobs; all you need is the connection.”

She further elaborated that developing these connections during national service was key to unlocking these opportunities.

Expressing her unwillingness to accept lower offers, she added, “I don’t think I will settle for GH¢ 2,000…2,000 is below… as a degree holder, maybe some 4k won’t be bad,” indicating that she considers GH¢4,000 a more appropriate starting point for someone with a university degree.
