A group identifying as the “Alliance of University Graduates Under ‘Pending For Consideration’ (GES)” is calling on the Ministries of Education and Finance to urgently prioritize their recruitment into the Ghana Education Service (GES).

These graduates, who have completed their university studies but remain in a state of limbo with the “Pending for Consideration” designation, are pleading for swift action from the government.

In a statement released, the Alliance expressed their deep concern over the situation, highlighting the sacrifices made by both the graduates and their families.

“These young men and women, having invested years of dedication, hard work, and financial resources into their education, now face uncertainty and frustration as they wait for the opportunity to serve their nation,” the statement read.

The Alliance argues that these graduates represent a “critical resource” for Ghana’s education sector and wider public service.

“Education is the backbone of national development, and these graduates represent a critical resource for our schools, institutions, and public service,” they stated, emphasizing the need to utilize their talents.

Many of these graduates are reportedly struggling with financial burdens and mental distress as they await potential employment.

“Many of them struggle with financial burdens, mental distress, and dwindling hope as they wait for the government to fulfill its promise of employment,” the Alliance claims. “Families who sacrificed immensely to support their children’s education now watch helplessly as their dreams remain unfulfilled.”

The Alliance also warned of the potential for a “brain drain” if the situation is not addressed promptly.

“Without swift intervention, we risk losing a generation of skilled professionals to idleness, economic hardship, or even migration in search of greener pastures,” the statement warned.

The Alliance is imploring the Ministries of Education and Finance to intervene and prioritize their recruitment, urging the government not to let bureaucracy and financial constraints stifle the potential of these young professionals.

“We, therefore, appeal to the Ministries of Education and Finance to prioritize the recruitment of these pending graduates, “the statement read. “Let their years of sacrifice be rewarded with the dignity of employment. Let their skills be put to use in shaping the future of our education sector and national development. Let us not allow bureaucracy and financial constraints to dim the hopes of our youth.”

The Alliance of University Graduates Under “Pending For Consideration” is urging the government to act swiftly and provide these graduates with the opportunity to contribute to the nation’s progress.
