There are many questions raised concerning why Christians worship on Sundays and not Saturdays.
I want to take my time to digest this for you to be much more enlightened.
Now the reason why Christians worship on Sundays is because of the resurrection of our Lord and master Jesus Christ.
The resurrection caused a great change to everything that was under and in the heavens.
Isa 65:17; For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
Now this was a prophesy given to us by Isaiah. This was talking about Jesus… The coming of Christ caused a very great change to so many things in the scriptures because his purpose was to make the scriptures fulfilled. ..
What are the “former things” that shall not be remembered from the prophecy Isaiah gave? It includes the Sabbath!
Sabbath was then a law for the people of God to observe. Jesus came and told us He was the Sabbath and the rest that the old was talking about. Everything written in the old was a shadow of the Reality which was Jesus.
Now back to the verse I quoted;
Isa 65:17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.
So now my question is; when did the new creation start? It started after Jesus was resurrected from the dead!
Mat 28:1 Now after the sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the sepulchre.
Now look at that. It said after the sabbath.
Remember the Jewish sabbath was on Saturday so after the Sabbath means Sunday. And Sunday according to our calendar now is the first day of the week! So the disciple went and saw the tomb opened and empty on Sunday.
Glory!! Now the change is coming… the RESURRECTION IS HERE!!! the day changed because a prophecy needed to be fulfilled. Jesus was also the first born of all creation hence must appear in everything first. … And it was so on a Sunday.
The master of the sabbath and the sabbath himself has abolished the sabbath law and implemented a successful gathering of Saint in worship… That’s why we gather to praise and worship him on Sundays. .. because of the resurrection. …
HE RESURRECTED ON THE FIRST DAY. We are now the new creation…. old things are gone. Behold all things are new.
2Co 5:17 Therefore, if any one is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, behold, the new has come.
Note the phrase.. *the old has passed! And THE NEW HAS COME.
Remember the bible never said the new will come(future statement) but it says it has come( past tense ).
And who is that new, It’s Jesus Christ. The resurrection caused the change from Saturday to Sunday.
So anyone who is still worshipping on Saturday is not committing any sin or abomination but just undermining the finished works of Christ.
Mar 16:2 And very early on the first day of the week they went to the tomb when the sun had risen.
Note; FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK– Sunday
Luk 24:1 But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices which they had prepared.
So we could see the resurrection of Jesus changed the calendar and the time of worship.
Because He was to bring a new heaven and a new earth. .. Remember what the Apostle said.
1Co 15:14 if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is in vain and your faith is in vain.
Did you just read that? The resurrection caused the big drama… It was the resurrection that caused you and I to believe Jesus was Jesus. ..
So we Christians( meaning followers of Christ) worship on the first day of the week.. which was the day of His resurrection and happens to be Sunday. ..
I’m now satisfied at where you said those worshipping at saturdays have not commit any sin or abomination. Buh those who worship on saturdays says its a sin to worship on sundays. Well now i know the truth. God bless you minister.
I’m glad you’re discovering truths … There are more to come… I believe in enlightenment.. God richly bless YOU…
Amen and amen. And God Bless you more. May you increase in everything.
Amen
God bless u man of God. Please one thing you should know is that Jesus Christ didn’t come to change the commandment of God. Non of the WORD OF GOD shall pass away. No,no, Never. Previously u said one can consider the Sabbath to be any ordinary day and now u saying the Sabbath is Sunday. See, when u read the bible carefully, it says that Mat 28:1 Now after the sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the sepulchre. The bible never mentioned that Jesus Christ resurrected on Sunday. Jesus might even resurrected before Sunday. Have u thought of that? The Angel said the two women that went there first that Christ has already. Know that God can never change any of the ten commandment of which the Sabbath is not excluded.
Please let pray for more insight from the Holy Spirit. God bless you.
Amen… More articles and exposition on the way… God richly bless you for following Coleman publications…
