The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has announced the acquisition of nearly 3,200 job vacancies from private companies through its Job Centre initiative.

According to Acting Chief Executive Officer Malik Basintale, all recruitment processes are being managed directly by the participating companies.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, Basintale emphasized that all job opportunities listed on the agency’s Job Centre https://yeajobcentre.gov.gh/ are completely free of charge, cautioning job seekers against any individuals or entities demanding payment during the recruitment process.

“No amount of money is to be charged before a job is given out. It is absolutely free of charge! Just apply, meet recruitment criteria, and we shall congratulate you,” Basintale stated.

He further appealed to private businesses to partner with the YEA in creating more employment opportunities for Ghanaian youth.

The Job Centre initiative, a flagship program of the YEA, aims to connect qualified job seekers with available private-sector positions, effectively bridging the unemployment gap.

Basintale’s announcement comes amid growing concerns over fraudulent job recruitment schemes.

Reports indicate that some job seekers have been subjected to illegal fee demands by unscrupulous individuals posing as recruiters.

“We are aware of these scams, and we want to assure the public that the YEA does not endorse such practices,” Basintale clarified. “The YEA is committed to ensuring a transparent and ethical recruitment process.”

The YEA has urged the public to report any instances of fraudulent recruitment practices to the appropriate authorities.

With nearly 3,200 vacancies already secured, the agency remains optimistic that increased private-sector collaborations will significantly contribute to tackling unemployment in Ghana.
