Paris Saint-Germain footballer Neymar Jr. has reportedly lost a staggering €1 million within just one hour of playing online poker.

The Brazil international, who has been out of action since sustaining an injury in February, live-streamed his online gambling session, which ended in him losing a six-figure sum.

Neymar expressed his frustration by fake-crying and screaming expletives as he watched his fortune vanish.

Unfortunately, losing large sums to online gambling is not uncommon for celebrities in the sports and music industries.

In fact, award-winning rapper Drake lost $1 million after betting on the Qatar 2022 World Cup final between France and Argentina.

Drake bet on Argentina to beat France, but the match ended in a draw, leading to the South Americans winning on penalties, and Drake losing his bet.

In another instance, the Canadian musician lost £537,000 after placing a bet on Barcelona to beat Real Madrid in the Clasico.

Although Arsenal won their game, Barcelona lost, resulting in Drake missing out on the chance to win £2.5 million.

This raises concerns about the dangers of online gambling and the need for responsible gaming practices.

It’s important for individuals, including celebrities, to be aware of the risks of gambling and to gamble responsibly
