STOP!! YOU CAN’T…Lesson 2

Psa 127:1 Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain.

Glory be to God for another brand new day. Yesterday we started treating this lesson.
I hope you have been thinking about it, that why such a topic ..Today I want us to delve deeper.

The truth of the matter is, There are many Christians today who are having the notion that … until they struggle hard ( pray,fast etc),God will not bless them. This isn’t their fault because that was what they have been hearing from ‘men of God” i should say .And due to this some of them( believers )are trying hard to live holy lives, righteous lives and so on( which isn’t bad) . But the funny part is, the more they try to do so the more they fall into ditch and dirty their clothes . Ask yourself why is it so?

In those days when I have not understood the FINISHED WORKS of Christ …I was trying my best to live without sin but the more i do the more i sin ..This was because i was trying to BUILD MY OWN HOUSE. I was trying to live from my own strategy to avoid sin but my strategy rather led me into them.

There are many Christians today who are living their lives from their own view point ..they think by their own strength they can build the HOUSE ( overcome sin, live holy ,become righteous ,obtain heaven etc. ) .

What did David said? …unless the lord build the house ,it builders LABOUR IN VAIN….The reason why you are still struggling with your christian life is because you want to build your own HOUSE .

why did David said that . Because Men were trying to do things to please the Lord but the more they did ,the more it became abomination in the sight of the lord..So David who saw this said ..no works from Man Can help man reach God.

What does this means? it simply means Your works has nothing to do with your salvation …Your fasting and prayers has nothing to do with your salvation. Listen to what Apostle Paul said ;

For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God;

Not because of works [not the fulfillment of the Law’s demands], lest any man should boast. [It is not the result of what anyone can possibly do, so no one can pride himself in it or take glory to himself.] Ephesians 2:8-9 Amplified Bible

Salvation is a free gift from God to man in a Person called Jesus Christ.

Today you will see people moving from one fasting and prayer camp to another ( please am not speaking against fasting and prayers ) thinking that will help them go to heaven or be blessed . …STOP IT!! IT Can’t ….
