The Month of January has been a ‘teary month’ for the Komenda College of Education community as they lost two souls; a continuing student and an immediate past trainee.
With the necessary arrangements made, Some Management Members, lecturers, and students of the College paid tribute to Alfred Amankona and Justina Ntiedu at Berekum and Kumasi respectively on Saturday, 4th February 2023 as they were laid to rest.
The Late Alfred Amankona
Alfred Amankona, alias ‘MDK’ was an immediate past agricultural science student of the college awaiting his National Service posting. His shocking departure occurred on Wednesday, 18th January 2023 at the Berekum Holy Family Hospital due to circumstances yet to be known.

His body was laid to rest this Saturday at Berekum in the Bono Region.
Some lecturers and a Group of Students led by the HoD for the Agricultural Unit, Mr. Patrick Bentil Ogoe were present to sympathize with the family and pay tribute to the decrease.
An undisclosed amount was presented to the family as a token from the college.
Also, his year batch, KOSA 2022 came in their numbers and supported the family in cash and kindness.
The Agricultural Science Unit believes Alfred’s efforts, combined with the efforts of other students won the college the best Institution In Agricultural in the Municipality during the 2022 Farmers’ Day Celebrations held by the Komenda Edina Eguafo Abrem Municipality.

The family members were grateful to the college for their unflinching support especially for traveling from Komenda to Berekum in their numbers.
The Late Justina Ntiedu
In a like manner, a delegation led by the Deputy Dean of Students’ Affairs, Mr. Uriel Amoah was at Kumasi, to pay homage to Justina Ntiedu who met her untimely death through a gory motor accident on January 22, 2023, while returning from an event.
Justina was a Level 200 B.Ed Home Economics student and the winner of the Komenda College of Education 2021 Miss Akwaaba, a prestigious beauty pageantry held annually for freshers.
Sympathizing with the family, The College in its capacity supported them with an undisclosed amount.
