In a bid to strengthen their bilateral ties, the Republic of Ghana and the Republic of South Africa have signed an agreement on a visa waiver regime for holders of ordinary passports.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration made this announcement on the 13th of October, 2023.
The agreement will take effect from the 1st of November, 2023, allowing travellers to transit through, depart from, and stay in both countries for a cumulative period of up to ninety (90) days without needing a visa.

However, it is important to note that this waiver does not permit holders to work in either country.
This development is expected to boost tourism and trade between the two countries.
The travelling public is advised to take note of this new arrangement and make necessary travel plans accordingly.
