Many applicants to colleges of education are reaching out to our outlet asking when colleges of education will start issuing admission notices for the 2024/2025 applicants.
Additionally, they want to know when they will be expected to report to their respective schools.
This article is therefore meant to answer these two questions and provide some enlightenment.
Initially, it was anticipated that colleges of education would begin issuing admission notices in mid-September, with successful applicants expected to report to school on October 7, 2024 for the commencement of academic activities.
However, due to the ongoing industrial action by the College of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG), there will be changes to these plans and PRINCOF will disclose that soon.

The delay in issuing admission notices and the uncertainty about the start of the academic year stems from the fact that the continuing students at colleges of education have not even begun their second semester, let alone completed the 2023/2024 academic year.
Originally, these students were scheduled to finish their academic activities on September 7.
Unfortunately, their tutors have been on strike since June 14, causing significant disruptions to the academic calendar.
With the teachers’ strike ongoing and the continuing students unable to complete their second semester activities, colleges of education will be unable to issue new admissions.

It is therefore crucial for all applicants to exercise patience and hope that CETAG’s industrial action will come to an end soon.
Once the strike is resolved and academic activities return to normalcy across the colleges, the 2024/2025 applicants can expect to receive their admission offers.
In the meantime, it is advised that prospective applicants stay informed about any updates regarding the resolution of the strike and the resumption of academic activities.
