Teacher trainees across the 46 public Colleges of Education in the country have been eagerly anticipating the disbursement of their allowances. As the 6th month disbursement for the 2021/2022 academic year has recently been made, trainees are hopeful that the release of the 7th and 8th months’ allowances will follow suit in due course.
Currently, the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) is conducting an audit of the trainees’ data in their system, and the allowances coordinators in the various colleges are lending their assistance to facilitate the process. This audit is necessary to ensure that the information on file is accurate and up-to-date, which will help to avoid any discrepancies in the disbursement of allowances.
Despite the delay in the release of the allowances, trainees are assured that once the audit is complete, they will receive their stipends. However, to expedite the process, trainees are advised to provide their liaison officers with any necessary details when requested, as this will help to speed up the process.
