PRINCOF released a statement on July 21, 2023, acknowledging that they have received the feeding grant allocated to final year students from the government, and will be refunding them.

However, the exact amount to be refunded will be determined through discussions with the leadership of TTAG (Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana).

Final year trainees’ were out of campus for the first semester due to their STS Macro Teaching, hence PRINCOF recognizes the need to refund them the feeding component of their allowance that was sent to them as they were not fed during that period.

However, given the recent reduction in the semester’s duration to three months, teacher trainees are advised to manage their expectations regarding the exact amount to be refunded as that will come from the discussion between TTAG and PRINCOF.

In a related development, TTAG has informed its members that they are currently addressing the issue of the examination fees paid by the final year students for the first semester.

Despite no sit-down examinations being conducted during that period, trainees were asked to make the full examination payment by the mentoring universities which TTAG is not excited about.

TTAG’s leadership has assured trainees that they are working towards resolving the examination fee matter, aiming to achieve fairness for trainees.
