The Government of Ghana through the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission(GTEC) has directed all the 46 Public Colleges of Education in the country as to the number of applicants to admit for the 2022/2023 academic year.

According to GTEC, there are limited resources and inadequate infrastructure at the various colleges to accommodate high enrollment for the 2022/2023 academic year.

Some colleges of education went contrary to the directives as they released admission notices to more than the allotted figures. Such colleges are now working on their lists to meet the instructed figures by GTEC.

GTEC in a release dated 16th December 2022 emphasized the need for the colleges to adhere to the directive. Adding that, Feeding Grants and Trainee Allowances will be paid based on the number they have instructed the colleges to admit.

The letter reads;
