Mr. Emmanuel Kwofie, the Director of National Service Scheme (NSS) for the Central Region, has issued a stern warning to prospective personnel against indulging in self-placement or special-posting.
During a pre-orientation held for the final year students of Komenda College of Education on 14th June, 2023, the Director explained that such an act is prohibited by the NSS ACT 426 and would not be tolerated.
Elaborating on the matter, Mr. Kwofie stated that the NSS is tasked with posting personnel to areas where their services are required, and self-posting is against this principle.

He emphasized that such individuals risk not receiving their stipends and could be perceived as engaging in charity work.
The Director went further to note that, there are only limited scenarios in which the NSS could repost someone, and even that, such reposting would be carried out solely by the NSS and not by a third party.
Mr. Kwofie implored all prospective personnel to desist from any special posting, as they could face severe reprimand once caught undergoing such an act. As the overseer of the entire National Service Scheme in the region, he would not hesitate to prosecute any individual caught engaging in such misconduct.
He concluded by calling on all the potential National Service personnel in the country to adhere strictly to the guidelines provided by the NSS. Stating that any disobedience or violation of these rules may lead to severe consequences.
