The National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) has revealed a reduction in the number of subjects offered in senior high school.
Effective in the 2024/2025 academic year, the number of subjects will be reduced from 63 to 37.
This approach is to allow for a thoughtful evaluation of the relevance and importance of each subject in today’s educational landscape.
As a result, certain subjects that were deemed less critical for students’ future academic and career success have been discontinued.
This strategic move is to enable more time and resources to be allocated to essential subjects that will better prepare students for their future endeavors.
