The National Service Authority (NSA) has taken significant steps to address the registration process for the 2025/2026 National Service Year.

As part of these efforts, it has released PIN codes for only 9,082 trained teachers from 24 Colleges of Education across Ghana with active accreditation from GTEC.

This move aims to streamline the registration process and ensure that only eligible trained teachers participate in the 2025/2026 National Service Scheme.

However, the release of the PIN codes has also highlighted a critical issue concerning accreditation status of colleges of education across the country.

According to NSA, out of the 36 Colleges of Education that submitted a total of 16,159 trained teachers for upload, only 14 of them currently have active accreditation with the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).

This means that the remaining 22 institutions have expired accreditation, which has resulted in a hold on the National Service registration for trained teachers from these colleges.

The NSA’s decision to hold on with their PIN codes was based on the need to ensure compliance and transparency in the registration process.

According to the Authority, it aims to uphold the standards and integrity of the 2025/2026 National Service by allowing only institutions with active accreditation to proceed with the registration.

This approach ensures that the NSA maintains its credibility and that all service personnel are registered through a fair and transparent process.
