The Leadership of the Colleges Of Education Teachers Association of Ghana, CETAG has held a meeting with the Hon. Minister Of Education, Dr. Osei Yao Adutwum concerning the industrial strike action being undertaken by tutors in Colleges Of Education.

After a lengthy discussion on the unresolved concerns of CETAG with the Hon. Minister yesterday, Monday, 5th December 2022, some commitment were made to address the issues. Below are the fallouts from the meeting;

  1. The parties agreed that the specific commitments made by the Hon. Minister to address all the concerns of CETAG should be put into writing signed by the Hon. Minister and other stakeholders.
  2. The parties drafted the roadmap agreement which the Hon. Minister has promised to sign it alongside other stakeholders and sent it to CETAG today, Tuesday, 6th December 2022.
  3. NEO shall call for a National Council meeting via Zoom immediately after it receives the signed document from the Hon. Minister for Council to deliberate odecidecision on the way forward.

CETAG humbly plead that all Council members frequently visit their Council Platform from this morning for a Zoom link that shall be provided as soon as the Hon. Minister sends them the document.

In the meantime, the leadership has employed all members to remain calm as they await the outcome of the meeting that the Council shall hold upon receipt of the Hon. Minister’s roadmap agreement.

Until then, the strike is still in force.
