The Management of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has taken a strict stance against students who have been unable to successfully resit multiple academic courses during the Resit Examination.
These students have been officially withdrawn from the university.

This decision was taken by the University during the 415th (Special) Meeting of the Academic Board held on Tuesday, July 25th, 2023.

The Examinations Audit Committee put forth a recommendation which was subsequently approved by the board.
According to the recommendation, any student who is trailing more than two courses at the end of the Supplementary Examinations will be withdrawn from the university and will not be allowed to repeat the failed courses.
However, a provision has been made for students who have been withdrawn but still wish to continue their studies.

These students are required to contact their Examination officer and follow the necessary procedures to apply for permission to repeat the year.
In the case of students enrolled in composite degree programs, they must seek permission from their respective Deans to repeat the failed courses.
All affected students need to be aware that the decision made by the Academic Board has already been implemented.

Students who find the tag “withdrawn” on their portal are strongly advised to get in touch with their Examination officer for further guidance on how to proceed.
