The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has instructed all 46 colleges of education to remain open, despite the ongoing industrial action by the Colleges of Education Teachers’ Association of Ghana (CETAG) which began on June 14th.
In a letter addressed to the principals on August 16th, GTEC clarified that there are no immediate plans to close the institutions.
The Commission stated it has not reached a decision to close the colleges and has not received any directives from the Minister of Education to do so.
