In the event of any brouhaha at the Pre-tertiary level, don’t blame Us – Teacher Unions

Expressing disappointment in the perceived lacklustre approach taken by the Government team during negotiations, the Teacher Unions highlighted that the talks have not yielded any substantial results

In a press statement released on Monday, 15^th April, 2024, the Pre-Tertiary Teacher Unions expressed their utmost disappointment with the government’s lacklustre attitude towards negotiations regarding their Conditions of Service.

They highlighted that despite the strike being called off, talks have yielded no meaningful outcomes.

Addressing the ongoing negotiations, the Teacher Unions emphasized their frustration with the government team’s apparent lack of mandate to adequately respond to their demands.

Amidst these concerns, the Teacher Unions issued a cautionary note, asserting that in the event of any disturbance or unrest at the Pre-tertiary level, the blame should not be placed on the Teacher Union Leaders.

“we will like to caution the general public and the government that in the event of any brouhaha at the Pre-tertiary level, Teacher Union Leaders must not be blamed”
