Concerning the ongoing Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana’s (CETAG) strike, the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG) has made a release appealling to the government to intervene as early as possible.
According to the release date 2nd August, 2023, the leadership has reached out to the Director General of the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) to assist in facilitating engagement with relevant stakeholders and urges the government to honor the reliefs specified in the National Labour Commission (NLC) and Fair Wages and Salary Commission (FWSC) arbitral award order.
In their appeal to the government, TTAG emphasizes the need for urgent engagement with relevant stakeholders to address the demands outlined in the award order.

Additionally, TTAG called on both CETAG and the government to explore compromises in an effort to swiftly resolve the differences that led to the strike action.
Recognizing the challenges faced by CETAG, TTAG kindly requests them to consider the plight of teacher trainees and take into account the impact on their academic progress during this difficult time.

TTAG also called upon all teacher trainees to remain steadfast and cooperative while the leadership works diligently to resolve the strike and advocate for their welfare.
