The Government has called for a meeting with members of the Private and Unemployed Teachers Alliance (PUTA) who have applied for the September 2024 GES Postings.

The meeting is scheduled for Friday, October 25th, 2024, at 2:30 pm at the Accra College of Education.

PUTA is comprised of the National Council of Private School Teachers, the Private School Workers Union of Ghana, and the Coalition of Unemployed University and Diploma Graduate Teachers.

According to PUTA spokesperson Mr. James Akon, attendance at this meeting is mandatory for all private school teachers, GES posting applicants, and education university graduates and diploma holders who have applied for the recruitment.

The agenda for the meeting includes discussions on:

  • GES Posting for Degree and Diploma Holders Before the Election: The government aims to clarify the posting process and timelines for degree and diploma holders ahead of the upcoming election.
  • Support for Private School Teachers: The government will outline plans to provide support and resources for private school teachers, recognizing their vital role in the education system.
  • Support for Private School Owners: Similar to the above, the government will detail initiatives aimed at supporting private school owners and ensuring a conducive environment for their operation.
  • GES Posting for University Education Graduates and Diploma Holders: The meeting will delve into the specifics of the GES posting process for the diploma and degree holders from the university.

Speakers

Hon. Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) will be the main speaker at the event, which will also feature government officials and ministers to oversee operations and registrations.
