On 2nd October, 2024, the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) made a disbursement of two months arrears to teacher trainees, however, the payment was only made to students in levels 100, 200, and 300, leaving out the final year students (level 400).
The final year students were left disappointed and furious as they had been eagerly anticipating receiving their allowances.
The Leadership of the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG) has explained that there had been a hiccup in the disbursement process by the SLTF, but assured that the issue would be resolved soon for the level 400 students to also receive their stipends.

In a related development, the Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) has issued a directive for all principals to refund the feeding grant for the first semester of the 2023/2024 academic year to the final year students.
This decision was made as the final year students were not fed during the first semester due to their macro teaching activities.
A total of GH₵ 870 is expected to be refunded to each trainee as part of this directive.
