The family of Rita Anane, a final-year( done with Level 300 going to 400) ICT student at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), is contesting the initial claims of suicide surrounding her untimely death.
The grieving family is demanding a thorough investigation into the circumstances that led to the tragic incident.
On Wednesday, Ms. Anane’s lifeless body was discovered in her hostel room, situated just a short distance from the university campus.

Startlingly, a sponge was found draped around her neck, tied to the ceiling fan hook. However, her relatives have expressed skepticism regarding the suicide theory proposed by authorities.
According to the family, the state of the victim’s room and the immediate surroundings where the incident occurred contradict the belief of suicide.
The room remained orderly, and the sponge, supposedly used in the act, was devoid of any knots.
Moreover, they assert that Ms. Anane displayed no signs of depression and consistently received support whenever necessary.
