Information reaching Coleman Publications reveals that the ongoing strike by the Colleges of Education Teachers’ Association of Ghana (CETAG) continues.

This is because the government has yet to provide the signed Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) that was discussed at their earlier meeting on Wednesday.

The scheduled Council Meeting of CETAG, set for July 26th, 2024, was put on hold due to the absence of the signed MoA document.

The document, which outlines the government’s commitment to implementing CETAG’s demands, was expected to be the basis for discussion at the Council Meeting.

“The scheduled meeting this morning was contingent on a signed MoA document. We are yet to receive it. I have communicated to conveners of that meeting that we cannot go into the Council meeting to discuss a document we don’t have. The meeting is therefore put on hold till we get the signed document,” a CETAG statement revealed.

CETAG has maintained that they will not hold a Council meeting until the government demonstrates its commitment by signing these documents.

The strike, which began on June 14th, is demanding the full implementation of CETAG’s conditions of service as awarded by the NLC.
