The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the introduction of a new “self-posting” module for the recruitment of the first batch of degree holders (2022) from the Public Colleges of Education.
The initiative aims to enhance the effectiveness of teaching and learning by allowing teachers to be posted to regions where they are fluent in the local language and have a support system in place.
Statistics show that out of the 21,010 applicants who applied for the 2024 recruitment, 12,784 graduates from the Public Colleges of Education were deemed qualified.
Accessing the Self-Posting Module
Starting July 5th until July 31st, all 2022 graduates from Public Colleges of Education who applied for recruitment via the https://www.gespromotions.gov.gh/ platform and meet all the necessary requirements are required to visit the portal.
Once there, they can select their preferred Region, District, and School.
Rationale for Self-Posting Module
The introduction of the self-posting module aims to address the language barrier issue faced by newly trained teachers.
