As part of formally enrolling and ushering the fresh men and women into the various programmes offered by the College, Komenda College of Education on Thursday, February 10, 2022 held its 15th Matriculation Ceremony at the College’s Complex Hall.
In attendance were; The Principal of the College, Very Reverend Dr. Kwesi Nkum Wilson, The Acting Vice Principal -Mr Theophlius Kweku Bassaw, The College Secretary, Ms. Constance Afriyie, Finance officer, Mr. Peter Esson, the College Librarian, Ms. Mercy Abah, Head of Quality Assurance, Mr. Mark Prince Kwamena Eghan, Students’ Affairs Officer, Ms. Sophia Efua Cobbinah, internal Auditor, Ms. Leona Essien, The College Public Relations Officer, Mr. Godwin Anani, Special Guest from UEW, Dr. Mavis Amo Mensah, Deans, Heads of Departments(HODs) , Hall Staff, Lecturers, SRC Executives, Teaching and Non-Teaching staff.

The College Chaplain, Reverend Wilson Kortey Kotei after his opening prayer gave a short exaltation. In his ministration, he made it known to the Students populace that, there is indeed time for every activity under the sun, and graciously it is their turn to be matriculated.
He later admonished them to make good use of their stay on campus as it’s part of God’s plan and agenda for their lives.
In His welcoming, Very Reverend Kwesi Nkum Wilson(PhD) made it known to the matriculants that, the ceremony is expected to confirm their acceptance as teacher trainees and to also assure Management that, they will obey all rules and regulations guiding their stay in the college. He further added that, Komenda College of Education does not only train teachers in Academics, but also in character, discipline, Hardwork and beginning with them Entrepreneurial skills and mindset.

In provision of the 2021/2022 Admission statistics, The Very Reverend Kwesi Nkum Wilson(PhD) said, the College received 2,530 applications out of which 1096 applicants selected Komenda College as their first choice.
The college then offered admission to 677 qualified Applicant, transfered 119 to other sister colleges. But the number of enrollment turned out to be 477 of which 236 were females and the remaining 241 males.
In his conclusion, Very Reverend Dr Kwesi Nkum Wilson urged the matriculants by saying;
“You are here to be successful, let the practices of hardworking Supersede any other unnecessary activities. You must think critically to add value to yourself and You must be responsible for your own actions. Remember to make time to read and adhere to the rules and regulations of the College. Go beyond your comfort zone, and do not be distracted, focus on significant activities. There may be courses you may not appreciate or like but do well to nurture them by working hard. Do not expect to be productive by staying at where you are. Move forward and study hard.. My Staff would continue to support your success. Academic Counsellors are here for you in any internal condition which may hinder your Academic performance. Try your best to explore your hidden talents as well, dispel any assumptions, and let the authority be aware of your external activities. You are welcome to Komenda College of Education, stay blessed and enjoy your stay on the Assai Hills”

Dr. Mavis Amo Mensah, the Representative from the Affiliated University, UEW, also congratulated the Matriculants for their successful journey so far.
She also urged them the University Of Education, Winneba is doing everything possible to ensure they have the best of training and tution here. In conclusion, she admonished them to study hard as they are here to pursue higher education.
