WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO FEAR THE LORD?

How can one keep himself free and safe from the destructions and calamities that will befall the earth soon? King Solomon summarized it for humanity that the conclusion of the whole matter is to fear God and obey His commandment!

The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. Ecclesiastes 12:13 NAS

The question is what does it mean to fear and obey the commandment of God? To fear God is to accept and Believe in His only son-Jesus christ.

To obey the commandment of God is to live according to the will of christ. Living to the will of christ is obeying the status and the standard of God by the leadings of the Holy Spirit. John wrote;

He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him." John 3 :36 NAS

It’s only when a commandment is broken that one experiences wrath and destruction. So the above scripture caution us to live in obedience to the words of Jesus christ in order to live in peace and not in pieces.

And having been made perfect, He became to all those who obey Him the source of eternal salvation, Hebrews 5:9 NAS

One thing is needful in our era, and that’s to embrace christ Jesus as our Lord and savior. Without this man has fulfilled nothing on earth.

And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved than Jesus" Acts 4 :12 NAS

Jesus christ is the “marking scheme” of the Father. Accepting and living for Him is all that is needed from man. May God continue to bless His word in Jesus mighty name. Amen.
