“So the Lord said to him, what is that in your hand? He said, “A rod”. And He said, cast it on the ground. So he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent, and Moses fled from it. Then the Lord said to Moses, reach out your hand and take it by the tail (and he reached out his hand and caught it and it became a rod in his hand). Exodus 4 : 2 – 4
Be careful how you handle the tools God has placed in your hands.
In every trade, there are rules.
In every game, terms and conditions apply.
God said, “… take it by the tail”. Don’t handle your gift anyhow, your dream, your job, your body, your time …. The proper use of the rod in your hand brings you to a place of honor and celebration.
Sometimes, what is in your hand takes the form of an office with a position that comes with authority – even so, take it by the tail.
Moses’ rod stood for his leadership and authority. He had to take it by the tail – it is a sign of humility, respect and godly fear;
in similar manner you must handle your gifts.
Don’t belittle it no matter how little you see it.
