A devastating explosion at Anto-Aboso quarry site in the Shama district, Western Region, has reportedly left numerous people feared dead.
According to reports, the incident occurred yesterday around 11 p.m.
Footage shared on TV3 Ghana’s Facebook page shows the aftermath of the explosion, with debris scattered across the site.
Bystanders can be seen rushing to the scene to help potential survivors and salvage what they can.
The full extent of the damage and the actual number of casualties are yet to be determined. However, pictures circulating on social media reveal that alot have lost their lives.

This latest incident has brought back painful memories of a similar tragedy that occurred in January 2022.
At that time, a motorcycle collided with a truck carrying explosives near Bogoso, resulting in multiple explosions and widespread destruction.
