A recent episode on the popular radio show “Aunty Naa’s Show” on Oyerepa FM in Kumasi featured a young man who shared his heart-wrenching story of betrayal and threats by his police wife, Belinda Asantewaa. The man, visibly disturbed and emotional, claimed to have paid for Belinda’s education, training, and even her joining the police force. He was supporting her financially and emotionally throughout their relationship.
According to the young man, Belinda revealed to him just a day before their wedding that she was pregnant, which made him believe that it was a sign of their love’s fruit. He continued with both the conventional and white weddings, and they welcomed their son into the world after a few months. He held a baptism ceremony, only to find out that another man, a customs officer, performed the same ceremony for his son.
Things got worse when Belinda’s parents demanded he present an invoice of all the money he had spent on their daughter, which he did. However, the parents refused to reimburse him, even though they had initially promised to do so. The total bill amounted to 120,000ghc, a considerable sum of money that he had saved up.
To make matters worse, the young man claims that Belinda has been threatening him with violence and even death if he comes to Cape Coast, where she is currently stationed as a police officer, to demand his money. He is genuinely afraid for his life and does not know what to do next.
