Teacher trainees across the 46 public colleges of education were anxiously awaiting the payment of their allowance at the end of April. Especially Final Year trainees who are almost done with their first semester of the 2022/2023 academic year.
However, according to the latest information available, this expectation may not be met due to certain technical hitches faced by the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF).
Contrary to earlier reports of a possible payment of two months’ allowance, the latest information is that certain hitches may impair the payment process.
Sources revealed that these technical issues may result in a delay for a few weeks, depending on the capacity of the SLTF to resolve them as quickly as possible.

Please be aware that once the technical issues faced by the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) are resolved, trainees will receive an SMS alert with the message “Dear Trainee”. That is, the payment of their allowance this time around will be accompanied by an SMS.
It is important for all trainees to keep their phones close and monitor for any such SMS. Once received, they can be assured that their allowance payment has been processed and is available for withdrawal.
