The Founder and General overseer of the Life Assembly Worship Center and the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), Reverend Christian Kwabena Andrews, also known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom, has declared his intention to take legal action against President Nana Akufo-Addo if he is elected president.
In an interaction with UTV monitored by Coleman Publications, Rev. Andrews criticized the President for what he sees as a wasteful expenditure of public funds on the construction of the National Cathedral.
Expressing his lack of faith in the relevance and profitability of the National Cathedral project, Rev. Andrews questioned the government’s decision to spend a substantial amount of money on a religious building.
He argued that Ghana already has numerous churches and questioned why additional ones are necessary when little positive impact is seen from the existing ones.
The reverend highlighted another concern, suggesting that it is irrational for the government to demolish a residence for judges to make way for a national cathedral.
According to him, this decision makes no sense and reflects misplaced priorities. He further emphasized that if he were to assume the presidency, one of his primary actions would be to take President Akufo-Addo to court over this matter.
Rev. Andrews also expressed his desire for the Christian Council to set a rule that Christians should only worship either on Sundays or saturdays per their belive. According to him, church activities throughout the week is not helping the nation interms of development.

The construction of the National Cathedral has been a topic of controversy and debate since it was proposed. The government allocated a significant amount of funds towards its development.
Supporters argue that the cathedral would serve as a unifying symbol for the nation and a place for national events, while critics claim that the money could be better utilized in sectors such as education and healthcare.
President Akufo-Addo, who initiated the project, has defended the construction of the cathedral, highlighting the economic boost it would bring and its potential to enhance tourism.
However, dissenting opinions, such as those expressed by Rev. Andrews, suggest that there is still disagreement within the country regarding the allocation of resources towards religious infrastructure.
