
The Leadership of the Graduate Unemployed Nurses and Midwives Association has issued an invitation to all members, media houses, and sympathizers to join them in a peaceful demonstration on April 16th, 2024.
The demonstration will take place at the Ridge Taxi Rank in Accra, with the march beginning at 8:00 AM.
The group’s aim is to highlight the lack of employment opportunities for graduate nurses and midwives and to call for action from the Ministry of Health (MOH), Parliament, and the Ministry of Finance (MOF).

In the release dated 8th April, 2024, the group asserted they are now tired and frustrated after years of waiting for employment.
Many have spent three to four years at home, eager to contribute their skills and serve their communities.
They believe it is time to take action and advocate for the opportunity to fulfill their passion for healthcare.

The association is urging all participants to bring their passion, determination, and voice to help present their plights to the relevant authorities.
They also emphasized that the demonstration will be conducted peacefully with all members adhering to the principles of non-violence and respecting local laws and regulations.
The Graduate Unemployed Nurses and Midwives Association hopes their demonstration will bring attention to their cause and lead to meaningful action in addressing the issue of unemployment among their members.

Their ultimate goal is to secure employment opportunities that will enable them to serve their communities and contribute to the healthcare sector in Ghana.
