The Ghana Health Service has revealed that the recently reported increase in new cases of COVID-19 in China and other Countries poses a major threat to the country

The Service added that the situation calls for tightening and reviewing the existing measures to avert further outbreaks.

As a result, The Ghana Health Service and the Ministry of Health in consultation with some key stakeholders are critically monitoring the situation and will soon come out with specific measures to address the current threat of the COVID-19.

However, they are calling on Ghanaians who have not availed themselves for the COVID-19 vaccination to do so as Ghana’s low vaccine coverage is a threat.

They are also encouraging those who have taken their first dose of the vaccine to go for the second dose and those who have taken their second dose to also go for their booster as the vaccination remains the best protection against the COVID-19 infection
