The National President of the Teacher Trainee’s Association of Ghana (TTAG), H.E Solae Razak, has provided an important update regarding the macro-teaching end date for final-year teacher trainees.

In a post, President Razak revealed that he, along with other TTAG executives, had engaged in extensive discussions with the Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) to adjust the macro-teaching end date to March 21, 2025 instead of the April 17, 2025.

“I assured final-year students that we have engaged extensively with the Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education (PRINCOF) to reduce their macro-teaching end date to March 21, 2025,” Razak stated.

In addition, he mentioned that efforts are also ongoing to resolve issues facing trained teachers from some colleges of education in accessing their National Service Authority (NSA) pin codes for their registration.

“We are similarly engaging with the Ministry, the National Service Authority, PRINCOF, and other relevant stakeholders to resolve the issues of trainees who are currently accessing their NSA pin codes for registration,” he noted.

Razak also highlighted his participation in the Volta Sector of TTAG’s Eduquest competition, held on February 28, 2025, which brought together all seven member Colleges of Education in the sector.

“As President, I commended my Sector President and his council for organizing the ‘Eduquest competition,’ which fulfills one of our constitutional mandates to our membership,” he said.

He emphasized the importance of collaboration among students to address the challenges they face.

“As always, we must collaborate our efforts together to establish a formidable student front to confront the numerous challenges we are faced with,” he concluded.

It should be noted that following the conclusion of their macro-teaching practice, final year trainees will vacate and return to their campuses to complete their four-year programs from June 16 to September 5, 2025.

During this period, they will commute to their respective campuses for lectures. End-of-semester examinations are scheduled from September 8 to September 19, 2025, with the 2024/2025 academic year concluding on September 20, 2025.

It is hoped that TTAG’s request will be granted by PRINCOF to the final year trainees.
