Despite repeated claims and earlier reports from the government and some nursing trainees, the President of the Ghana Nurses and Midwives Trainee Association has revealed that the Trainee Nurses Allowance has not yet been disbursed.
President Pascal Adumbisa made this revelation on Ghana Tonight Show on TV3 on Monday, denying reports that the allowance had been paid for the period from November 2023 to April 2024.
He urged the public to disregard any such information and screenshots circulating on social media.

Adumbisa revealed that the government had failed to fulfill its promise to pay the allowance, which was initially said to be disbursed on May 16, 2024.
The association has expressed concern that the delay in the payment is causing financial hardship to trainees, who rely on the allowance to cover living expenses and other academic costs.
