Trained teachers from the colleges of education serving the country in the Central Region have expressed their disappointment over the treatment they are receiving from their Regional Director. and the region concerning the payment of their allowances.
Despite the recent government’s disbursement of GH¢ 780.00 in arrears to the NSS Personnel nationwide, these personnel in the region noted they have not yet received their payments.
Additionally, their arrears for June(some), October, and November are also outstanding.

Expressing concern, they asserted that their counterparts in other regions and the mainstream personnel(University) in the same region have received their payments promptly.
They further state that their concerned association’s leadership has made efforts to engage the regional director, but no action has been taken thus far.
They also alleged that the delayed payment issue is reportedly a recurring problem in the Central Region for only the trained Teachers, with inadequate communication exacerbating the situation.
These frustrated personnel, who had already regretted serving in the region, are now calling on the leadership of the National Service Scheme (NSS) in the Central Region to expedite the release of their funds as they did for the mainstream personnel.

According to them, many of them are in significant debt as they have resorted to borrowing to meet their daily expenses.
They are also appealing to relevant stakeholders to intervene quickly in this matter as they are dying slowly.
