At Coleman Publications, we have been closely monitoring the developments regarding the issue of teacher trainee allowances.
In our latest engagement with the Student Loan Trust Fund (SLTF), important updates have been provided regarding the current state of the allowances.
During our engagement last Friday, it was confirmed that students’ data from various colleges are now safely stored and intact. However, the crucial aspect of receiving funds from the government is yet to be completed.
SLTF has assured that they are fully prepared to disburse the allowances to trainees as soon as they receive the necessary funds. The timing of the disbursement depends on the arrival of the funds in their account.
Inquiring about the duration(number of months) of allowances to be disbursed, we were informed that the number of months will be determined by the amount of funds received. Therefore, the total duration of the allowance payment will be contingent on the availability of funds.
Trainees were advised not to worry, as they will be notified about the payment of their allowances through SMS notifications.
It should be noted that the Teacher Trainees Association of Ghana (TTAG) has also taken the initiative to engage in dialogue with relevant authorities to advocate for the release of funds to SLTF. Their efforts aim to expedite the disbursement process and ensure trainees receive their allowances at the earliest opportunity.
