Sabre Education, a leading education NGO, has partnered with Komenda College of Education to enhance the training of students pursuing early-grade education in the college.
The collaboration was formalized through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on 1st November 2023, during a meeting between the college management and Sabre Education officials.
During the meeting, Very Reverend Kwesi Nkum Wilson (PhD), the Principal of Komenda College of Education, highlighted the college’s commitment to prioritize early grade educators.

He mentioned that the college initially did not offer an early grade program but took proactive steps to introduce it, resulting in an impressive increase in student participation.
Notably, even male students have shown tremendous interest, surpassing their female counterparts in terms of enrollment statistics.

Dr. Wilson further revealed that the college has established a child development centre, which will soon be fully operational.
This center aims to provide practical training opportunities for Early Grade Trainees.
It will also serve as an educational facility for the children of the college’s workforce, who have children with ages ranging from three months to three years.
“I believe in providence and I believe God is directing our path,” Dr. Wilson expressed.

Mr. Robert Quansah, the Senior ECE Technical Manager of Sabre Education, expressed his amazement at the college’s dedication to early childhood education and training.
He commended the institution for defying societal norms that associate early childhood education predominantly with women.
Moreover, he praised the college for promoting gender equality within their program, with male students actively engaging in early-grade education.

Quansah also shared his pride in the partnership between Sabre Education and Komenda College.
He announced that the collaboration aims to establish a well-equipped early-grade resources centre accessible to all trainees.
This center will provide a variety of educational materials and resources to enhance the students’ learning experience.

Additionally, a half-day resource-making workshop will be conducted for teacher trainees and teachers expressing interest, preceding the official opening of the center.

As part of the MoU, various packages have been promised to further enrich the training of students in early childhood education.
These initiatives are all geared towards ensuring the students receive the best possible education and training in early-grade instruction.
The anticipated timeline for the operationalization of the Resource Center is set for January of the coming year.
