NTC Implements New Fees and Charges for Teachers’ License Cards, Renewals and Registrations

The National Teaching Council has taken a step towards the full implementation of fees and charges approved by the Parliament of the Republic of Ghana.

The council has written to the Director-General of Ghana Education, highlighting the importance of these fees and charges for license cards, renewal, and teachers’ registration from 2023.

According to the National Teaching Council, they have been granted the authority to levy fees on their clientele to support their regulatory functions, as per the Fee and Charges (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2022.

This act empowers the council to collect fees from teachers to ensure the smooth functioning of their regulatory responsibilities.

Applicable Fees to All Teachers

As outlined in the act, the following fees will be applicable to all teachers:

  1. License card: GH¢ 200.00
  2. Renewal of license: GH¢ 100.00
  3. Registration of teachers: GH¢ 50.00

The letter, issued on 26th September 2023, urged the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service to bring this important information to the attention of all employees.

It is important for all teachers to be aware of these fees and charges and ensure compliance with the regulations set forth by the National Teaching Council.
