In a bid to address the persistent issue of delayed monthly payments, the National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) of Tamale Metropolitan has called for a strike action, effective from 10th August 2023.

This move comes as the association’s members continue to face financial challenges and hardships resulting from the non-payment of their June and July allowances.

On 9th August 2023, NASPA Tamale Metropolitan issued a communique acknowledging the difficult circumstances its members are enduring due to the prolonged delay in receiving their monthly allowances.

Despite tireless efforts by the NASPA executive board to engage in discussions with relevant authorities, the situation remains unresolved, leaving the association with no choice but to take a stand and call for this strike action.

The primary objective of the strike is to draw attention to the urgent need for prompt action and accountability in ensuring the timely payment of not only the outstanding allowances for June and July but also the rest of the arrears that have accumulated.

The NASPA executive board believes that this strike action will serve as an effective tool to showcase the gravity of the situation and to compel the concerned authorities to take immediate action.

The strike, affecting all national service personnel in the Tamale Metropolitan area, will continue until payment of the outstanding allowances is made.
