The Teacher Trainees Association (TTAG) WEC Sector held their handing over ceremony on Saturday, 29th April 2023 at Foso College of Education, Assin Foso.

During the ceremony, His Excellency Alfred Otabil Afful, the newly elected WEC Sector President, delivered an acceptance speech outlining his administration’s plans to address the issues of discomfort and anxiety that teacher trainees face.

Afful assured the trainees that his administration would work tirelessly to address issues that concern their welfare.

He stated that the mantle and baton he has received symbolize his commitment to the journey ahead, and he promised to meet the expectations of the various stakeholders of the association, particularly the teacher trainees who overwhelmingly supported and voted for him.

He emphasized that his administration would have an open-door policy and engage in conversations with all concerned and unconcerned stakeholders to ensure that teacher trainees have the best possible experiences during their academic and training efforts.

He believes that this will contribute to knowledge, society, and the development of a better sector.

Furthermore, President Alfred Otabil Afful stated that his job as WEC Sector President is to be the guardian of trust, fostering mutual understanding among the local TTAG executives, their members, and their colleagues who entrusted him with this responsibility.

He called on the various SRC executives and other stakeholders to work together to improve the ordinary trainee’s experience, and he promised to be a beacon for engagement and involvement.

Afful’s promise to eradicate discomfort and anxiety among teacher trainees with his “ALPHA AGENDA” which he believes will significantly improve the sector’s overall quality.

By engaging in open conversations with stakeholders and fostering mutual understanding, he hopes to create a better experience for trainees and contribute to the sector’s development.
