The MORLLA Foundation, a prominent non-profitable organization, has organized an impactful skill training event at Komenda M/A Basic School in the KEEA Municipality on Wednesday, 19th July 2023.

The event aimed to inspire the Junior High School (JHS) students to value skills and encourage them to explore their creative potential.

It also aimed to equip them with essential skills that would enable them to do something for themselves after their JHS education.

During the event, Coleman Publications spoke with Master Roland Morgan, the President of the Foundation, who explained that some JHS graduates in the community are unable to further their education or find work, which contributes to poverty, and the Foundation recognized the need to address this issue.

“The MORLLA Foundation, committed to ensuring the wellbeing and academic success of learners, undertook the responsibility of providing skill training to JHS students within the community.

The goal is to equip JHS students with practical skills that they could rely on in the future, even if they are unable to continue their education”, he stated.

The skill training session was conducted by Mrs. Charlotte Diabor, a skilled trainer, patroness, and lecturer at the prestigious Komenda College of Education.

Mrs. Diabor focused on teaching the students how to prepare liquid soap, providing hands-on practical experience.

The learners eagerly participated in the training, successfully creating their own liquid soap using the materials provided by the Foundation.

She emphasized the immense value of having practical skills, regardless of one’s profession. As an example, she shared her own experience as a lecturer and how additional skills have enabled her to supplement her income.

She commended the Foundation’s executives for their initiative and encouraged them to expand the program to all JHS schools in the KEEA Municipality, emphasizing the importance of combining education with practical skills.

Several students who spoke with Coleman Publications expressed their joy at acquiring the new skill. Some even stated that they would teach their parents what they had learned.
