The Ministry of Education has requested an urgent meeting with pre-tertiary teacher unions to discuss the implementation of the remaining items in their Collective Agreement.

The meeting is set to take place on September 30th, 2024 at 9:00am at the Minister’s Office in the Ministry of Education.

The purpose of the meeting is to address any outstanding issues and seek resolution before any planned demonstrations by the teachers.

The decision to hold this emergency meeting comes after the announcement of a planned demonstration by the teachers on October 1st due to perceived delays in fulfilling the terms of the Collective Agreement.

In a letter issued on September 27, 2024, the Ministry expressed gratitude for the teacher unions’ continuous collaboration and support.

The Ministry hopes that the meeting will result in a positive outcome.

“Your presence will be highly appreciated and we are grateful for your continuous collaboration and support in this matter,” the letter stated.
