Komenda College of Education adjudged the Best Debating School in Ghana

Komenda College of Education has won the maiden edition of the National Insurance Debate competition held by insurance companies in Ghana.

The final round of the competition held at the NIC auditorium, Accra on Wednesday, 16th November 2022, had in attendance a lot of dignitaries and well-wishers

The two champions from the two zones: Komenda College of Education – Southern Zone champion and St. John Bosco’s College of Education- Nothern Zone Champion, battled it out on the motion; “The recently passed Insurance Act 2021 (Act 1061) is a panacea for the low Insurance penetration and coverage in Ghana.”

Komenda College of Education spoke against the motion whereas their counterpart, Saint John Bosco’s College of Education aligned with the motion.

It was a formidable competition as the two teams provided evidence, facts, and figures to defend their assertions.

However, By the ruling of the Judges based on the benchmarks outlined for the competition, The team of Komeda college of Education debaters represented by Constance Tawiah and Michael Asabil triumphed over Saint John Bosco’s College of Education with 85.3% to 71.6% to win the national trophy.

According to the Judges, Komenda college of education pulled up tremendous propositions and incredible submissions that fetched them higher marks, and they met the criteria outlined for the event.

A total of 16 teams from colleges of education, technical universities, and other public and private Universities in Ghana participated in the competition.

Speaking to Coleman Publications, the trainers for the Komenda College of Education Debater’s Club, Mr. Benjamin Henry Taylor and Mr. Alhaji Ibrahim Waziri expressed their profound fondness to the Almighty God for the victory. They also thanked their Principal, Very Reverend Kwesi Nkum Wilson(Ph.D), and the Management of Komenda college of education for their steadfast support right from the onset of the competition.
