Komenda College of Education has been adjudged the best institution in Agriculture in the KEEA Municipality at the 38th Farmers’ Day Central Regional Durbar and Awards Ceremony held at Jukwa-Zongo on Friday, 2nd December 2022.
The occasion themed ” accelerating agricultural development through value addition” was to honour and thank all of the hardworking farmers who plow, sow, grow, and harvest to feed the region and the nation as a whole.
As a college of education investing in improving and advancing its agricultural ‘sector’, it is without an iota of doubt, it has been adjudged the best institution in agriculture in the municipality.

The college was awarded a refrigerator, a pair of wellington boots, a knapsack sprayer, cutlasses, detergents, two mini bags of fertilizers, and a certificate of merit.

The science of cultivating the soil, growing crops, and raising livestock has become a focal study area gaining more attention under the leadership of Very Reverend Kwesi Nkum Wilson.
Currently, the College has adopted piggery production to shore up the Internally Generated Funds (IGF) to support its administration.

It has also started growing flowers to attract bees to its beehives to produce high-quality natural commercial honey for local and international consumption.
Over 3000 coconut seedlings had been planted by the college.

All these initiatives form part of a multifaceted innovative home-grown solution and strategies to maintain the college as Ghana’s foremost teacher training Centre of excellence.
