The National Conference of Principals of Colleges of Education-Ghana (PRINCOF) has directed all principals to halt refunding the feeding grant component to the final year students.
The communique issued on 3rd October 2022 and signed by the Executive Secretary of PRINCOF, Dr. Harriet Naki Afful declared that all Principals of the 46 Public Colleges of Education in the country to hold on with any refunds being made to Level 400 students until all feeding grant payment due the colleges are received and all the necessary reconciliations in respect of the payment are made.
The missive clarified that students are still being fed and any refund to students now can have some dire consequences for the colleges.
However, any refund to students would be made as soon as all payments in respect of the feeding grants are received from the government.
The Principals were earlier told to refund the said component to the final year students because they were having their practicum during the first semester, hence were not fed by the colleges.
