In a move that demonstrates its unwavering commitment to supporting the education sector, the government of Ghana has approved the payment of the 2022/2023 Teacher Trainee Allowance.
The Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has announced that his office has successfully secured the necessary funding to cover the allowances, totaling GH¢ 241,913,000.
This was disclosed during the 14th graduation ceremony of the Wiawso College of Education. Dr. Yayeria Dzakadzie, the Deputy Director in charge of Tertiary Education, read the minister’s speech, highlighting the government’s commitment to supporting the education sector.
He emphasized the government’s recognition of the critical role played by teachers in shaping Ghana’s future and its prioritization of supporting the development of future educators.
The approved funding will directly benefit teacher trainees across the country, helping them acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to become effective educators.
