In an effort to facilitate the inter-regional reposting of teachers for the 2024/2025 academic year, the Ghana Education Service (GES) has outlined a comprehensive process and set of requirements.
These guidelines aim to ensure a smooth transition for teachers looking to relocate to different regions within the country.
Application Procedure for Inter-Regional Reposting
1. Assurance from Chosen Region
Applicants must obtain an assurance letter from their preferred region through the Metro/Municipal/District Directors of Education.
2. Release from Current Office
After securing the assurance letter, applicants must request release from their current office.

The Metro/Municipal/District Director will write a covering letter and attach relevant documents, including the applicant’s payslip, assurance letter, and certificates.
3. Submission to Regional Office
The Metro/Municipal/District Director forwards the applicant’s documents to the Regional Education Office.
4. Director-General’s Approval
The Regional Education Office submits the documents to the Director-General for final approval.
Once approved, the applicant receives a release letter from the Regional Director.

Application Procedure for Inter-District Reposting
1. Assurance of Vacancy
Applicants seeking inter-district reposting must secure an assurance letter from the preferred district.
2. Release Application
Applicants must apply for release from their current district by attaching supporting documents.
The Metro/Municipal/District Director recommends the release to the Regional Director.
3. Regional Director’s Approval
The Metro/Municipal/District Director forwards the documents to the Regional Education Office for the Regional Director’s final approval.

Application Procedure for Intra-District Reposting
1. Application to Director
Applicants express their willingness to relocate within the same district by writing to the Metro/Municipal/District Director and providing relevant documents.
2. Director’s Approval
The Metro/Municipal/District Director grants final approval if the applicant meets all requirements.
