In a few days’ time, the Ghana Education Service (GES) will be opening its graduate recruitment portal.
This move comes as part of a larger plan to ensure that each school has an adequate number of teachers to meet the educational needs of students.
According to the Executive Director of Eduwatch, Over 24,000 graduate teachers are expected to be recruited into the GES this year.

The portal is set to be opened either in ending of January or early February of 2024.
Currently, there are over 200,000 graduates from various universities eagerly awaiting the opening of this portal.
The reason behind this delay is the GES’s commitment to addressing staff imbalances in senior high schools across the country.
They want to ensure that each school has an adequate number of qualified teachers before commencing the process.

Though GES has existing records, it will need to conduct assessments in some of the schools before officially opening the recruitment portal.
Again, before the recruitment portal can also be opened, the GES requires financial approval from the Minister of Finance.
Once these assessments are complete and financial approval granted, the portal will be officially opened.
